Rising Stars Degustation Dinner
La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs is delighted to invite you to an exclusive five-course degustation dinner at The George, to celebrate the talents of young New Zealand Commis Chefs and to fete three of our rising stars.

A portion of the funds from Rising Stars will go towards funding further La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs’ competitive events in New Zealand and help send our young stars to compete in the international arena.
The world's largest and most venerable gastronomic institution, La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs has its roots in medieval France. Today it is a unique network of chefs, restaurateurs and lovers of fine food and wine, with more than 120,000 members in 120 countries worldwide.
La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs winning Commis Chefs will each prepare a course, supported by The George team and executive chef, Nathan Bates.
- Blake Thornley,17, Crowne Plaza, winner of the South Island and New Zealand La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs National Commis Chef competitions, just returned from the International Commis Chef competition in Adelaide
- Alastair Wilson, 25, The George, 2nd in the La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs South Island competition and 3rd in the La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs National Commis Chef competition
- Guy Stanaway, 22, The George, National Commis Chef of the Year 2004, and CPIT Salon Culinaire South Island Chef of the Year 2006
